Please consult the list of specialites below. We are constantly reviewing new centres and this web site is updated regularly with further information. We welcome enquiries from specialist treatment centres anywhere in the world and from major general hospitals with specialist departments of outstanding merit.
We do not advise patients on individual cases however. We are not doctors and it is important that all clinical advice and decisions should be made by the centres themselves, as it is their expertise which is central to our service.
We also put patients and doctors alike into contact with the centres to discuss specific cases and provide general information in links and downloads to assist them.
MHL seeks out the best centres worldwide in a widening field of speciaities. We bring information to patients on the centres themselves and on the technologies employed there, for patients to make their own decisions or to discuss with their doctors.
Clinical excellence can depend upon sophisticated technology, but any treatment device is only as good as the person who is operating it. Sometimes the best treatments are more a question of skill and expertise of the surgeon and quality of supporting care offered.
New medical technologies often require a large investment in capital equipment, maintenance costs, training and staffing requirements, so it can take some years before proven treatments become widely available. Patients however are more mobile. If they want to take advantage of the latest treatments they should be prepared to travel to where they are available.
New treatments are being developed around the world at an ever-increasing pace, so it is impossible for doctors, much less patients, to keep up with everything which may be available, especially in other countries.
