As well as the familiar applications in SAD and physiotherapy, light is increasingly used in the treatment of burns and wound healing of all types, and especially for stubborn and long term chronic wounds. A simple and painless application of phototherapy before other treatments can have remarkable effects on the healing process.

The same awareness has also grown in the cosmetic world, where application of light after cleansing and before beauty treatments has great benefits for the skin and enhances the effect of those treatments.

As this awareness of phototherapy has grown around the world, so there has grown up an increasing array of devices available for medical professionals.
